Dispatcher (Part-Time)
Location: Dubuque, IA
Schedule:
- Training:
- 2 weeks from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- 4 weeks from 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM
- Regular Hours: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
- Additional Requirement: 2 Saturday shifts required
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Dispatcher to join a local company's team. In this role, you will coordinate bus schedules, dispatch drivers, and serve as the communication hub between transit employees and the public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispatch buses and drivers via radio and telephone
- Track vehicle and driver locations
- Complete fill-in scheduling for absent drivers
- Operate communication systems and computer terminals
- Respond to customer questions, service requests, and complaints
- Enter customer interactions into the CRM system
- Prepare employee schedules, routes, and service documentation
- Maintain accurate records and assist with reports
- Process eligibility applications
- Order and distribute materials, supplies, or equipment
- Provide route and schedule information to customers and coworkers
- Coordinate and support daily transit operations
- Perform general clerical tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in dispatch, transportation, or customer service preferred
- Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasking environment
- Proficient with computers and willingness to learn new software
- Dependable and detail-oriented
