Job Full Description
We’re assisting a local metal fabrication company in hiring a Laser Nesting Specialist for 1st shift. This role is responsible for creating and optimizing nesting programs for laser cutting equipment while ensuring accuracy, material efficiency, and production flow. Candidates must be comfortable working in both an office and production floor environment.
Pay: Based on experience (Direct Hire)
Schedule: Full-time | 1st Shift: 5:00 am–1:20 pm | Overtime: 1:20–3:20 pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize laser nesting programs to maximize material usage
- Coordinate with production staff to schedule laser cutting operations
- Ensure accurate interpretation of drawings and specifications
- Maintain and update nesting software and job files
- Troubleshoot nesting or cutting issues to ensure quality results
Qualifications:
- Previous experience with laser nesting software required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with technical drawings
- Comfortable working both in an office and on the production floor
- Manufacturing or fabrication industry experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move between office and shop floor environments
- Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
