Job Full Description
A well-established company in Farley, IA is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join their team. This is a hands-on position responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of diesel trucks and heavy equipment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, takes pride in their work, and enjoys working in a fast-paced shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and inspections
- Conduct preventative maintenance and ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and complete necessary repairs
- Maintain accurate service records and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
- Keep the shop organized, clean, and compliant with safety standards
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or related role preferred
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Welding and fabrication experience a plus
- Valid driver’s license required (CDL a plus but not required)
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a dependable work ethic
Schedule & Pay
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:30pm
- Pay: $25–$35/hour, depending on experience
