Skilled Shop Tech I
New Iberia, LA | Full-Time | Pay: $18-82-22.14
We are seeking a Skilled Shop Tech I to assist with the interior build-out of blast-resistant and industrial buildings. You will work in various stages of production including sandblasting, insulation, painting, framing, flooring, interior finishes, and window/door installation.
Responsibilities:

Interpret blueprints and construct interior finishes using hand and power tools

Produce high-quality work in accordance with industry standards

Cross-train in multiple construction skill sets

Train and mentor junior personnel
-
Inspect work, machines, and equipment to ensure proper performance
-
Follow safety rules and maintain a clean work environment
Requirements:
-
6+ months construction related experience (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or HVAC)

Ability to read tape measures and perform basic arithmetic
-
Experience using hand and power tools
-
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
-
Works well as part of a team
-
Basic computer skills
Preferred:
-
5+ years construction experience
-
Ability to pass respirator fit test
-
Comfortable performing heavy work and physical labor including lifting, bending, climbing, and kneeling

Manual dexterity and good balance
-
Ability to work indoors/outdoors in various weather conditions
