Hiring Immediately Mechanic!
Position Title: Mechanic (Full-time)
Pay: $22
Shift Times: Monday through Friday - 06:00 p.m. - 06:00 a.m.
Express Detroit Mechanic Job Duties:
- Ensure adherence to safety standards including use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), remove hazards as identified, and maintain cleanliness of the site.
- Performs repairs on engines, brakes, suspensions, transmissions, and electrical equipment on the site’s trucks and yard machinery.
- Air system diagnostics and repair.
- Electrical diagnostics and repairs.
- Inspect, lubricate and service equipment per company maintenance schedules.
- Change flat tires.
- Make service calls on down trucks and pick up parts from various dealerships as required.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and make necessary repairs, adjustments, or replacements.
- Drive trucks and trailers to test their performance.
- Perform cleaning duties related to plant equipment and general housekeeping
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED and must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have valid driver’s license, CDL preferred.
- Experience as a diesel mechanic and experience with hydraulic systems preferred.
- Experience welding and torching preferred.
- Mechanic license or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work independently, self motivated and self-directed.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to follow oral and written communication
- Ability to climb ladders or steps to reach objects
- Ability to endure physical and outdoor work on a daily basis.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Work cooperatively with other employees and the public
- Must be able to work rotating shifts
- Must be able to work in an environment where routinely exposed to dust, dirt, vibrations, extreme climate and changes in weather.
- Pre-Employment background, physical, and hair drug screen required
Preferred Candidates:
- Heavy Equipment, truck or automobile mechanic skills
- Automobile or truck mechanic skills (shade tree mechanic experience OK)
- Capability to work 40- hour weeks plus overtime
- Tools including impact wrench and drill
- Be able to pass criminal background, preemployment physical, and urinalysis drug test
- HS Diploma/GED
