Shift Supervisor in Addison, MI  

Schedule: 6:45am-3:15pm

Payrate: $21-$24/hr.,

Job Summary: This position provides leadership for the production shift. This position ensures effective training, development, and leadership of team members to follow company guidelines and best practices that ensure team member safety, while exceeding quality and on-time delivery goals and managing productivity and cost. Key contributors in the development of company guidelines and best practices for their areas of responsibility.

 

Job Duties:

  • ·       Coordinates production plans with Production Manager and others based on production requirements from production orders, drawings, written specifications, and similar documents to optimize productivity.
  • ·       Train and develop team members on operating processes (i.e., injection molding, cnc router, bends, assembly procedures, etc.) and operates lines when needed as back-up.
  • ·       Trains and develops team members on job assignment duties in accordance with applicable quality and manufacturing procedures, work instructions (verbal or written), good manufacturing practices and safety procedures.
  • ·       Coordinates and/or completes line changeovers.
  • ·       Develops identified team members to handle line changeovers, while retaining responsibility for successful performance.
  • ·       Train and develop team members.
  • ·       Audits quality and production performance, in accordance with work instructions (verbal and written) and inspection plans, throughout the shift to ensure quality requirements are being achieved and take corrective actions as appropriate.
  • ·       Operates small hand and power tools (i.e., screwdrivers, hammers, wrenches, power hand-drills, routers, rivet guns, etc.) as well as powered machinery such as drill-presses, power saws, pneumatic and hydraulic punches, and other such equipment.
  • ·       Trains and develops team members, and well as completes, on count accuracy, packaging/skidding, and labeling in-process and finished product in accordance with work instructions (verbal and written), non-conforming material, and procedural requirements.
  • ·       Transfer stock and finished product either manually or by means of manually operated stock handling equipment such as handcarts and pallet jacks. May, upon successful completion of operator training and qualification, be assigned to operate a motorized lift-truck (forklift).

Additional Requirements:

  • ·       Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • ·       Ability to interact positively with supervisory personnel and coworkers.
  • ·       Must be proficient with using a tape measure to within 1/16”.
  • ·       Ability to use basic measuring and inspection tools such as tape measures, steel-rules, calipers, attribute gauges, gauge blocks and pins, go/no go type gauges, etc.
  • ·       Will provide advanced training on use of other measuring tools, manufacturing process and quality requirements.
  • ·       Ability to use common hand tools and to set up and operate various common powered tools and production equipment.
  • ·       Ability to lift a minimum of 55lbs at any given time for purposes of mixing /re-filling hoppers
  • ·       Ability to read and comprehend production documents and simple mechanical drawings is a plus. Training will be provided
  • ·       Familiarity with the company’s quality system and applicable procedures, and the company’s work and safety rules and procedures, with training.
  • ·       Must have basic skills with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel); Training provided.
  • ·       Ability to use ERP systems; Training provided.
  • ·       Ability to initiate and maintain various production reports and records, with training.
  • ·       Ability to interact positively with supervisory personnel and coworkers.
  • ·       Ability to operate a lift-truck (forklift) (optional with appropriate training).
