Assembly in Dexter, MI!
1st shift: 6am-2:30pm Monday- Friday OT as needed up to 4:30pm.
Position Summary
The Assembly Operator is responsible for assembling finished products, inspecting components, following work instructions, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. This position plays a critical role in ensuring product quality and meeting production goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Sit at the assigned work station to assemble the parts required for the finished product assigned.
2. Coordinate all parts needed to assemble the final product.
3. Inspect parts and separate flawed components.
4. Read and interpret work order travelers.
5. Complete the labor tickets.
6. Keep the work area clean.
7. Replenish the work station when finished for the next shift.
8. Weigh completed parts as required.
9. Other duties as assigned.
Quality Responsibilities
1. Adjust machines as necessary to produce parts that meet required specifications.
2. Work with supervisor and engineering to determine if re-work or scraping parts from a rejected lot is required.
3. Seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Knowledge on how to use manual calipers & micrometers
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions and production documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to identify defective components and maintain quality standards.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
- Basic math skills and ability to accurately complete production records.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
