Quality Control Technician (QC Technician)

Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour
Shift: Must be available to work 2nd shift and/or 3rd shift

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to join our team. The QC Technician is responsible for testing raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods while maintaining accurate quality records and supporting laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will have laboratory experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.

Job Duties

  • Test raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods.
  • Accurately generate and maintain quality records.
  • Update LIMS and quality spreadsheets.
  • Perform routine instrument maintenance and cleaning.
  • Clean and maintain the QC Laboratory.
  • Transfer retained samples to designated storage locations.
  • Complete daily log notes and documentation.
  • Replace helium and hydrogen cylinders when empty.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives.

Work Environment

To perform the essential functions of this position, employees must have mobility to move throughout laboratory areas and remote storage locations for quality control and parts inventory. Proper PPE is required at all times.

Employees may be exposed to:

  • Hazardous chemicals and hazardous energy sources
  • Extreme heat, cold, wet, humid, icy, or outdoor conditions
  • Noisy, dusty, or poorly lit environments
  • Glassware, needles, presses, ovens, and hot plates
  • Nitrogen, hydrogen, and helium gases
  • Electrical equipment and instrumentation

Employees may frequently work around forklifts, manlifts, tank trucks, and semi-trucks operating throughout the facility.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk and stand on level and inclined surfaces throughout the workday.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and stoop when necessary.
  • Ability to reach, twist, push, pull, grasp, and handle objects and tools.
  • Ability to climb stairs to access storage and archive areas.
  • Ability to use finger dexterity for laboratory and computer tasks.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and hear alarms, instructions, and workplace sounds.
  • Must possess close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to crouch, kneel, crawl, bend, and reach above or below shoulder level.
  • Periodic ladder climbing may be required.

Education

  • Associate’s degree preferred, or High School Diploma/GED equivalent required.
  • Laboratory experience is highly desired.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous laboratory experience preferred.
  • Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong computer skills and attention to detail.
  • Mechanically inclined.
