Maintenance Technician Assistant
Job Summary
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a dependable and motivated Maintenance Technician Assistant to support the maintenance and daily operations of a local company in Jackson, MO. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, learning mechanical skills, and keeping a shop, equipment, and work areas operating safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Assist maintenance technicians and mechanics with routine maintenance and repairs.
- Help inspect, maintain, and repair shop equipment, tools, and facilities.
- Perform basic mechanical tasks under the direction of experienced technicians.
- Assist with oil changes, lubrication, fluid checks, and other routine maintenance as assigned.
- Help troubleshoot equipment and identify potential maintenance issues.
- Maintain and organize tools, equipment, parts, and supplies.
- Keep shop floors, work areas, and equipment clean and organized.
- Assist with moving vehicles, equipment, parts, and materials throughout the shop.
- Perform basic facility maintenance, including minor repairs and upkeep.
- Follow all company safety procedures and properly use required PPE.
- Dispose of waste materials and fluids according to established safety and environmental procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous automotive, mechanical, maintenance, or shop experience is preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely around vehicles and equipment.
- Strong work ethic and reliable attendance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, lift, and work in a physically demanding shop environment.
- Must be willing to learn and follow proper safety procedures.
