Job Full Description

One of clients is looking for hard-working and reliable individuals to join our planting crew during our spring and early summer planting season.  Crew members will support the transplanting of cannabis plants, field preparation, irrigation setup, and general field maintenance. This role is vital to ensuring timely and successful crop establishment and requires physical endurance, punctuality, and the ability to follow directions in an outdoor farm environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Transplant plants into pre-marked beds, following spacing and depth guidelines

2. Lay and secure drip tape irrigation lines

3. Assist with soil amendment application, mulching, and bed preparation as needed

4. Unload and move trays, totes, or tools between staging areas and field

5. Maintain clean and organized work zones around transplanting areas

6. Operate hand tools, wheelbarrows, and carts safely and effectively

7. Work efficiently within a team, maintaining speed and care

8. Identify and report any signs of plant stress or transplant issues

9. Participate in post-planting tasks such as staking, trellising, or additional irrigation runs


Qualifications:

1. Prior experience in cannabis agriculture, landscaping, or manual labor preferred but not required

2. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (sun, wind, light rain)

3. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods

4. Must be 19+ and legally eligible to work in New York State

5. Reliable transportation to and from the field site

6. Positive attitude, good communication skills, and ability to work well with a team

Schedule & Duration:

Work is based on weather windows and plant readiness; flexibility is essential

Approximate duration: 2–3 weeks of intensive planting, followed by potential extension into early cultivation or harvest roles for qualified workers

Preferred Skills (Not Required):

1. Experience with drip irrigation systems

2. Experience in hemp or cannabis cultivation

3. Tractor or small machinery familiarity

4. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
