The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that manufacturing and processing equipment in the Ceramics Group facility remains operational, safe, and efficient. This role involves electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and supporting production needs to minimize downtime and maintain high manufacturing throughput.

Perform daily maintenance, repair and servicing of production equipment, machinery, and manufacturing systems in the ceramics facility (including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems).

Troubleshoot and repair issues in a timely manner to minimize equipment downtime.

Implement and execute preventative maintenance (PM) programs on machines and production equipment.

Collaborate with production/manufacturing/operations departments to ensure equipment is running and meets production requirements.

Maintain parts inventory of critical spares and components; coordinate with purchasing/maintenance planning to ensure availability.

Operate equipment related to maintenance tasks (e.g., fork trucks, scissor lifts, aerial lifts).

Read and use drawings, schematics, PLCs, and instrumentation to diagnose and repair electrical systems and control systems.

Perform work in multiple disciplines: electrical wiring, motor control, PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, pipe fitting, welding/soldering as needed.

Ensure adherence to Environmental, Health & Safety policies; safely handle hazardous waste and follow MSDS guidelines.

Maintain excellent housekeeping standards in the maintenance department, machine rooms, and work areas (6S/5S).

Document maintenance work, report on machine condition, log PMs, record downtime, and participate in continuous improvement.

Support new equipment installation, commissioning, upgrades, retrofits as required.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor or maintenance manager.

Strong troubleshooting ability across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team; motivated self-starter with strong sense of urgency.

Comfortable managing multiple priorities and tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Flexibility to work varying shifts, overtime or weekends as needed.

Comfortable lifting and moving equipment/parts as needed; working near machines; standing long periods and walking in industrial environment.

Ability to read electrical/electronic schematics, mechanical drawings, and work instructions.

Good working knowledge of PLCs, motor starters, variable frequency drives, sensors/actuators, and control systems.
