Job Full Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Electrical Service Technician to perform service, maintenance, and repair work on electrical systems in residential and/or commercial settings. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to work independently while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems

  • Perform service calls, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs

  • Install, maintain, and repair wiring, panels, outlets, lighting, and electrical components

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams

  • Inspect electrical systems to identify hazards, defects, and code compliance issues

  • Recommend repairs, upgrades, or system improvements

  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding findings and timelines

  • Maintain accurate service documentation, work orders, and safety records

  • Follow OSHA guidelines and local/national electrical codes

Skills Required:

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

  • Knowledge of electrical systems and NEC code requirements

  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

  • Good communication and customer service skills

Equipment Used:

  • Hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, wrenches)

  • Power tools (drills, saws, impact drivers)

  • Electrical testing equipment (multimeters, voltage testers, clamp meters)

  • Ladders, lifts, and scaffolding

  • Conduit bending and cable-pulling equipment

  • Required PPE (gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, arc-flash gear)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Comfortable working on ladders, in confined spaces, and overhead

  • Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor environments

Experience:

  • Previous electrical service experience preferred (level dependent on role)

  • Valid driver’s license preferred

  • Electrical license or certification a plus (Journeyman/Master, if applicable)
