Job Full Description
Position Summary
The Senior Bookkeeper & Accounting Coordinator oversees daily accounting operations, maintains accurate financial records, prepares financial reports, supports budgeting, and ensures compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.
Essential Responsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger and process accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank transactions.
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end financial reports.
- Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, and investment accounts.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, budget reports, and cash flow information.
- Assist with budget preparation, financial analysis, and annual audits.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, and internal controls.
- Coordinate financial information with department managers.
- Maintain confidential financial and personnel records.
- Assist with Human Resources, licensing, certifications, and records management.
- Recommend process improvements and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- Five or more years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Experience with financial statements, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.
