Job Full Description
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for coordinating the shipment and receipt of products and materials. They play a key role in ensuring accuracy in inventory management, timely delivery of goods, and efficient communication with other departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive incoming shipments, verifying the accuracy of the items and checking for any damages.
- Inspect packages for compliance with shipping regulations and company policies.
- Record and update inventory as items are received.
- Prepare and package items for outgoing shipments, ensuring they meet shipping regulations and customer requirements.
- Generate shipping labels, packing slips, and other necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries
- Maintain organized and accurate inventory records.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile any discrepancies.
- Monitor stock levels and notify relevant departments when replenishment is needed.
- Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and internal departments to address any issues related to shipments.
- Provide tracking information and updates to relevant parties.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Perform quality checks on incoming and outgoing products to ensure they meet established standards.
- Report any quality issues or damages promptly.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and software.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment (if required).
- Physical stamina to handle lifting and moving of packages.
