PRODUCTION TEAM MEMBER

LOCATED IN LEEDS, ND (28 minute drive from Devils Lake, ND)

 

Pay: $18/hr

Monday-Friday 7am-5pm

Employment Type: Full- Time

Immediate openings available for Mill Operators at our grain elevator working with black pinto beans and pearled/dehulled barley. We need folks who can start ASAP!

 

General:

1. The Mill Operator will do his/her best to give our buyers the very best product that can be produced from the raw product received
2. The Mill Operator will have a respectful demeanor and stay calm at all times towards other employees, farmers, truck drivers and any other persons on the job site
3. The Mill Operator will politely challenge any person on site that you are not sure should be present
4. The Mill Operator will fully understand their part in the food safety system and creating a safe quality food for our customers

 

Working Environment:

   Maintain the physical environment around your equipment by:

1. Regularly sweeping up and removing product spills
2. Regularly sweeping the general areas around your machines
3. Regularly removing accumulated dust and debris from machines and your work area including light fixtures, overhead beams, railings and steps

4. Regularly inspecting walls, ceilings, windows and doors to be sure they are functional and prevent the intrusion of pests and birds

5. When walking around the facility look to see if potential pest harborage areas exist (example:  pallets piled next to a building, equipment parts next to a door, vegetation growing next to an outside wall
6. Be sure your clothes are proper for your job: No grease, oil, paint or other such substances on your clothes

 

Specific Job Functions:

  Monitor, manage and maintain the processing function by:

1. Observing equipment as it runs
2. Make sure equipment is properly calibrated for its function
3. Make sure equipment is properly maintained by regular inspection and recording such observations on required forms
4. Perform equipment minor repair and maintenance as needed or inform plant maintenance and record any actions on the proper equipment forms
5. Collect product samples at the time intervals specified by the Plant Manager
6. Properly grade product samples and record the results as instructed by the Plant Manager/Quality Manager

 

Requirements:

1. Able to frequent standing, walking, lifting, climbing stairs, and repetitive movements.
2. Ability to handle heavy lifting and work in a fast-paced production and noisy environment.
3. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation is a MUST.
4. Must NOT be allergic to barley or latex.
5. Mechanical knowledge is a plus, particularly in operating machinery.
6. Experience with forklifts and other material handling equipment is advantageous.
