Sanitation Team Member

 

Schedule: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Tuesday through Saturday
Work Location: Grand Forks, ND
Pay Rate: $19/hr

Key Responsibilities

Safe Equipment Operation & Maintenance

  • Perform routine and non-routine sanitation of production and facility equipment.

  • Ensure all equipment and surfaces meet food safety standards before use.

  • Follow established safety and lockout/tagout procedures.

Product Handling & Quality Control

  • Follow company procedures for material handling and retention sample collection.

  • Maintain accurate chemical inventories and ensure FIFO (First-In, First-Out) practices.

Food Safety & Sanitation Compliance

  • Adhere to GMP, HACCP, SQF, FSMA, and other food safety programs.

  • Maintain cleanliness throughout all areas of the plant.

  • Report any food safety or quality concerns immediately.

Team Collaboration & Support

  • Assist teammates and adapt to changing production needs.

  • Contribute to productivity, safety, and quality goals.

  • Support training and cross-functional sanitation activities as needed.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Accurately complete required documentation and cleaning checklists.

  • Participate in 5S and other continuous improvement initiatives.


Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing or food production sanitation preferred.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Technical & Mechanical Skills

  • Basic mechanical aptitude; ability to identify and report equipment issues.

  • Familiarity with production equipment and sanitation procedures.

  • Basic computer literacy and math skills required; SAP or inventory experience preferred.

Safety & Compliance

  • Understanding of GMPs, HACCP, and food safety regulations.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., push or pull heavy loads, and stand/walk for long periods.

  • Ability to work in wet or humid environments and around moving machinery.

Communication & Teamwork

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Dependable, team-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Positive attitude and commitment to safety and quality.

  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed.


Physical Requirements

  • Stand or walk for extended periods (up to 90% of the shift).

  • Frequently lift, push, pull, climb, bend, and stoop.

  • Must have normal vision (corrected if necessary) and color recognition.

  • Must wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Exposure to varying temperatures, wet conditions, moving machinery, and cleaning chemicals.
