Graduate Civil Engineer – Municipal Projects

What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll play an active part in delivering municipal infrastructure projects from start to finish. Your work will blend design responsibilities, field experience, collaboration, and growing professional independence.
Your responsibilities may include:

Assisting with construction-phase services, including serving as a Resident Project Representative (RPR) when needed.

Creating and updating engineering drawings, technical plans, and project documents in accordance with internal CAD standards.

Supporting project managers and senior engineers by contributing to design calculations, reports, and engineering analyses.

Participating in client meetings, internal team discussions, and project planning sessions to ensure smooth project coordination.

Preparing cost estimates, specifications, and other supporting documents for municipal infrastructure projects.

Helping develop proposals and, with experience, taking part in interviews and business development opportunities.

Applying problem-solving skills, sound engineering judgment, and attention to detail in both office and field settings.

Upholding safety policies, ethical standards, and quality expectations across all phases of work.

Collaborating with colleagues across disciplines to deliver accurate, efficient engineering solutions.

Traveling to project sites and adjusting work hours during construction seasons as required.

Contributing to professional development by engaging in community groups, professional organizations, or leadership programs.

Completing other tasks as assigned as you grow your technical and project experience.
What You Bring
-
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required).
-
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within one year.

0–5 years of civil engineering experience.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation/GeoPak, or willingness to become proficient.

Experience with additional design/CAD tools (SketchUp Pro, ArcGIS, etc.) is a plus.

Valid driver’s license (or ability to obtain one).
Physical Requirements

Ability to use a computer in a typical office environment.

Capability to work outdoors during construction seasons.

Occasional walking or standing for extended periods when performing fieldwork.

Ability to lift up to 10 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.

Ability to meet required work hours and field demands.
