Job Summary
The CNC Screw Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC screw machines to produce precision components according to engineering specifications. This role ensures high-quality output, machine efficiency, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC screw machines (e.g., Davenport, Acme, Swiss-type).
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
- Adjust machine settings for optimal performance and accuracy.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot machine issues.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Maintain production records and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in CNC machine operation and programming (G-code knowledge preferred).
- Strong understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds, and material properties.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Experience with precision measurement and quality control.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Basic math and computer skills.
Education & Experience
- Familiarity with ISO quality standards and SPC is a plus.
- Experience operating CNC screw machines
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Manual dexterity for handling tools and parts.
