Job Overview

We are looking for a capable and experienced Diesel Mechanic who can handle more than basic maintenance. This position is for someone comfortable diagnosing real problems, making solid repairs, and working independently most of the time. The ideal candidate understands modern diesel systems and can keep equipment reliable and running.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, including fuel, cooling, intake, and emissions systems
• Troubleshoot electrical and electronic issues using diagnostic tools and wiring diagrams
• Perform repairs on brakes, suspension, steering, driveline, and hydraulic systems
• Complete engine repairs such as injectors, turbos, EGR components, sensors, and related systems
• Carry out preventative maintenance and inspections to reduce downtime
• Identify developing issues before they turn into major failures
• Use scan tools and service information to find and confirm faults
• Keep basic records of work performed and parts used
• Follow shop safety rules and manufacturer repair procedures
• Work with other technicians when needed and help keep the shop organized

Required Skills & Experience

• Several years of hands‑on diesel mechanic experience
• Good understanding of diesel engines and support systems
• Comfortable with diagnostics, not just part replacement
• Working knowledge of electrical systems and sensors
• Able to read and understand service manuals and wiring diagrams
• Experience with emissions systems (DPF, DEF, EGR) preferred
• Able to work independently with limited supervision
• Reliable, detail‑oriented, and consistent in work quality
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred but Not Required

• Experience working on trucks, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, or fleet vehicles
• Familiarity with common diesel brands (Cummins, CAT, Detroit, etc.)
• Experience using OEM or aftermarket diagnostic software
• Basic welding or fabrication skills

Work Conditions

• Shop environment with occasional outdoor or field work
• Physically active role involving lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Regular exposure to grease, oil, and heavy components
