Automotive & Equipment Maintenance Technician
Express Employment Professionals - Edmond, OK
Express Employment Professionals is seeking dependable and mechanically inclined individuals for an Automotive & Equipment Maintenance Technician position with a respected government agency in the Oklahoma City metro area.
If you have experience performing preventive maintenance and mechanical repairs on vehicles, trucks, heavy equipment, or small engines, we want to hear from you!
Job Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment
- Change oil, filters, belts, tires, and lubricate chassis components
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
- Conduct inspections and safety checks on equipment
- Read and interpret parts manuals and repair documentation
- Operate diagnostic tools and equipment
- Assist with inventory control, parts ordering, and maintaining shop supplies
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Complete repair records and maintenance documentation
- Perform basic welding and fabrication as needed
- Assist with roadside service and emergency repairs when required
Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in automotive, diesel, truck, fleet, heavy equipment, or small engine maintenance and repair
- Knowledge of two-cycle and four-cycle internal combustion engines
- Familiarity with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Ability to diagnose equipment problems and complete repairs
- Ability to read parts manuals and follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to safety and quality workmanship
Preferred Qualifications
- Automotive, Diesel, or Heavy Equipment Technician training
- ASE Certifications
- CDL Class A or B
- EPA/MVAC Certification
- Fleet maintenance experience
- Welding and fabrication experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently stand, bend, kneel, and lift equipment and parts
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Schedule
- Full-Time
- May require occasional overtime, emergency response, or work outside normal business hours
