Job Description: Unarmed Security GuardLocation: Guthrie, OKPosition Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-HirePay Rate: $18.00 / hourAvailable Shifts:Day ShiftPrime Shift (Evening)Overnight Shift(1 open opening per shift; weekend availability required for 24/7 facility operations)Position OverviewWe are seeking vigilant, dependable Unarmed Security Guards to join our team at a residential vocational training facility in the Guthrie area. In this role, you will maintain a safe, secure, and orderly environment for students, staff, and visitors by conducting regular patrols, monitoring access points, enforcing safety protocols, and responding to incidents professionally.Key ResponsibilitiesAccess Control & Facility Security: Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials for visitors and delivery personnel, and prevent unauthorized campus access.Patrol & Surveillance: Perform routine foot and vehicle patrols across dormitories, educational buildings, grounds, and parking areas to deter illegal activity, vandalism, or policy violations.Incident Response & De-escalation: Rapidly respond to alarms, emergency situations, or disturbances. Use professional verbal de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts peacefully.Safety Inspections: Inspect doors, windows, gates, lighting, and fire equipment to ensure proper functioning; report safety hazards or facility damage immediately.Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate daily activity logs, track shift occurrences, and complete detailed incident reports in a timely manner.Emergency Coordination: Act as a first point of contact during emergencies, assisting with facility evacuations and collaborating with local law enforcement or emergency responders when necessary.Qualifications & RequirementsEducation: High School Diploma or GED required.Licensing/Certifications: Active State Unarmed Security Guard License (CLEET certified in Oklahoma or ability to obtain prior to start).Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.Experience: Previous experience in security, law enforcement, military, or residential facility safety preferred.Skills:Strong observational and physical awareness skills.Professional communication and conflict management skills.Basic computer proficiency for shift logs and written incident reporting.Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, stand for extended periods, climb stairs, and perform foot patrols in various weather conditions.Background Check: Ability to pass standard pre-employment background screening and drug panel.Why Join Us?This temp-to-hire role offers stable hours, a collaborative team environment, and a direct pathway into a permanent position while helping maintain a safe environment for students working toward their career goals.
