Job Title: Water Systems Technician Location: Edmond, OK Job Type: Full-time Job OverviewExpress Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled and reliable Water Systems Technician to join our technical field team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and troubleshooting residential, commercial, and light industrial water treatment and purification systems. Key ResponsibilitiesSystem Installation & Maintenance Installation: Assemble, install, and commission water filtration, reverse osmosis (RO), water softening, UV disinfection, and chemical feed systems according to manufacturer and company specifications. Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on existing systems, including replacing filters, changing UV lamps, servicing pumps, and rebuilding control valves. System Upgrades: Inspect aging equipment and recommend necessary repairs, part replacements, or full system upgrades to clients. Diagnostics & Water Testing Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and water flow issues across a variety of treatment systems and distribution lines. Water Quality Analysis: Collect water samples and conduct field tests for parameters such as pH, hardness, total dissolved solids (TDS), iron, and chlorine residuals. Equipment Calibration: Calibrate dosing pumps, flow meters, sensors, and monitoring equipment to maintain precise operational standards. Operations & Compliance Documentation: Maintain accurate field logs, service reports, chemical usage records, and inventory logs using digital work-order software. Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Follow all OSHA standards, state water quality guidelines, lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols, and safe chemical handling procedures. Customer Interaction: Communicate technical diagnostics clearly to clients, providing basic operational instructions, answering questions, and delivering professional service. Qualifications & Requirements Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required; vocational training, relevant certifications, or an associate degree in mechanical/environmental studies is a plus. Experience: 1–3+ years of experience servicing water treatment systems, commercial plumbing, or mechanical utility maintenance preferred. Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of plumbing systems, pipe fitting (PVC, copper, PEX), and fluid dynamics. Familiarity with low-voltage electrical controls, pumps, and automated valves. Experience with basic water chemistry testing procedures. Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required for operating service vehicles). Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs, stand/kneel for extended periods, work in varied weather conditions, and maneuver in tight utility spaces.
