Job Title: Entry-Level Tax Preparation Associate (Seasonal)

Job Summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Tax Preparation Associates to support clients during the tax season. This is a seasonal position focused on assisting with the preparation of tax returns under the guidance of experienced tax professionals. No prior tax or accounting experience is required — paid training will be provided. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in a professional office environment during tax time. This position pays $19.00 per hour. 

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, organize, and review client tax documents (W-2s, 1099s, receipts, prior-year returns, etc.)

• Accurately enter financial and tax-related information into tax preparation software

• Assist senior tax professionals with preparing tax returns (no filing responsibilities)

• Identify missing or incomplete information and communicate needs to supervisors

• Maintain organized and confidential client files and records

• Perform basic administrative and clerical support tasks as needed

• Follow established procedures to ensure accuracy, compliance, and data security

• Meet deadlines during the busy tax season

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• No prior tax or accounting experience required — training provided

• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to follow instructions and work in a structured environment

• Professional communication and customer service skills

• Reliable and able to commit to the full tax season

Preferred (Not Required)

• Office, administrative, or customer service experience

• Interest in accounting, finance, or business

Position Details

• Seasonal position during tax season only

• In-office position

• Work schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

• Full-time hours during tax season

• Overtime may be available during peak periods
