Position Title: Pipe Welder
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Department: Fabrication / Welding
Reports To: Welding Supervisor

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pipe Welder experienced in multiple welding processes to perform high-quality welds on pipe ranging from Schedule 40 to heavy wall thickness. This role includes position welding (including pinwheel/rolled positions) using MIG and Flux-Core processes, as well as TIG welding on small-diameter pipe (2” and below). The ideal candidate will be capable of producing X-ray-quality welds and working in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform pipe welding on 6" Schedule 40 through heavy wall pipe
• Execute position welds (including pinwheel/rolled welding)
• Weld using:
  • MIG (GMAW)
  • Flux-Core (FCAW)
  • TIG (GTAW) on 2” pipe and smaller
• Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and weld procedures (WPS)
• Prepare pipe for welding (fit-up, beveling, alignment)
• Ensure welds meet required codes and quality standards (visual and X-ray quality)
• Maintain proper heat control and interpass temperatures on heavier wall material
• Perform multi-pass welds including root, fill, and cap
• Inspect completed welds and correct defects as needed
• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements

Qualifications

• Proven experience in pipe welding (Sch 40 through heavy wall)
• Proficiency in MIG, Flux-Core, and TIG welding processes
• Experience with position welding (2G, 5G, 6G preferred)
• Ability to weld 2” pipe with TIG (all-out / full penetration)
• Strong understanding of welding symbols and blueprints
• Ability to pass weld tests (including bend and/or X-ray inspection)
• Knowledge of materials such as carbon steel (stainless is a plus)
