Job Full Description
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to support a broad range of accounting operations and ensure the integrity of financial records. This role is responsible for executing key accounting functions including month-end and year-end close, account reconciliations, fixed asset management, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of GAAP, a hands-on approach to problem-solving, and a willingness to work across varied environments.
Main aspects of the role include:
- Support month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts.
- Assist with year-end close processes by completing journal entries, preparing account reconciliations, and compiling schedules for the annual financial audit.
- Contribute to the preparation of annual census data, tax reporting schedules, and R&D tax credit documentation.
- Assist with external audits, including the annual financial statement audit and 401(k) plan audit.
- Manage sales tax filing and reconciliation processes, ensuring compliance with Nexus requirements.
- Generate and maintain daily financial activity reports, supporting team members with journal entries and other accounting functions.
- Manage the Visa credit card transaction process, ensuring proper internal controls and accurate monthly reporting.
- Maintain and manage fixed asset and construction-in-progress (CIP) records, ensuring accurate asset tagging, depreciation tracking, and alignment with budget-to-actual reporting.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and support KPI tracking and gap analysis initiatives.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

3–5 years of relevant accounting experience in a corporate or manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and formulas.

Experience with cost accounting and/or payroll is a plus.

Familiarity with business systems or ERP software used for accounting functions.

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
