Sanitation Lead

 

Job Title: Sanitation Lead - Food Processing Facility

Location: Redmond, OR

Pay: $18-$22/hr

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Sanitation Lead to oversee the cleanliness and sanitation of our food processing facility. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with food safety standards, lead a team of sanitation workers, and maintain a safe, clean working environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and coordinate industrial cleaning tasks to maintain sanitary work areas
2. Oversee the sanitization of equipment and surfaces
3. Implement and enforce food cleanliness protocols
4. Ensure compliance with OSHA safety requirements and FDA/USDA food cleanliness standards
5. Train and supervise sanitation team members
6. Develop and maintain cleaning schedules and procedures
7. Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment
8. Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness standards are met
9. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate cleaning activities
10. Troubleshoot sanitation issues and implement corrective actions
11. Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities and inspections

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; further education in food safety or related field preferred
• 3+ years of experience in industrial or commercial cleaning, preferably in food processing environments
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices

• Familiarity with OSHA, FDA, and USDA standards
• Experience with industrial cleaning equipment and solvents
• Leadership experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety guidelines
• Positive demeanor and enthusiasm for the work
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed

Physical Demands:

• Regular lifting up to 25 lbs, occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand, walk, and crouch for extended periods
• Comfortable working with industrial cleaning solvents and equipment

Work Environment:

• Food processing facility
• Fast-paced, team-oriented atmosphere
• Exposure to various cleaning chemicals and industrial equipment
• May involve working in temperature-controlled environments
