Produce Clerk: Sisters, Oregon
Pay: $19.00
Summary:
The Produce Clerk is responsible for maintaining an attractive, fresh, and fully-stocked produce department. This includes properly displaying, rotating, and culling fruits and vegetables, as well as providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Unload, unpack, and stock fresh produce including fruits, vegetables, herbs, and related items
- Attractively arrange and face produce in displays, keeping varieties properly rotated and spaced
- Cull and remove old or damaged produce in a timely manner to maintain freshness
- Keep produce cases, shelves, preparation areas, and department clean and organized
- Trim, slice, and prepare fruits and vegetables for sale as needed
- Accurately weigh, label and price items
- Assist customers by providing produce information and making recommendations
- Cross-trained to operate cash register and take customer orders as needed
- Follow all food safety regulations and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in produce, grocery, or retail environment preferred
- Strong product knowledge of fruits and vegetables
- Ability to stand for long periods and regularly lift up to 50 lbs
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
