Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and friendly Produce Clerk to join our grocery store team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for stocking, arranging, and maintaining fresh fruits and vegetables while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude toward maintaining product quality and store cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist with inquiries, product recommendations, and item retrieval.
• Monitor inventory levels, place orders, receive deliveries, and report any discrepancies.
• Stock and rotate produce to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
• Inspect produce for quality and remove items showing signs of spoilage.
• Set up, maintain, and dismantle attractive product displays.
• Keep the produce area clean, organized, and compliant with health regulations.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the store manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic understanding of food safety, hygiene, and produce handling.
• Effective communication and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Basic math skills for inventory and transactions.
• Physical capability to lift and carry heavy items, climb ladders, squat, and stand for extended periods.

Work Environment

This role involves working in a fast-paced retail setting, including weekends, holidays, and early morning or evening shifts as needed.
