Grocery Retail Meat Wrapper

LOCATION: Bend, Oregon
PAY: \$20 – \$22/hour DOE (Depending on Experience)
AVAILABILITY: Must have open availability during store hours

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and efficient Meat Wrapper to join our retail grocery meat department team in Bend. The Meat Wrapper is responsible for properly handling, wrapping, and packaging various cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood while maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Wrap and package fresh meat, poultry, and seafood using appropriate materials and techniques
• Accurately label packages with product details, weights, prices, and expiration dates
• Maintain attractive and well-stocked display cases through proper arrangement and rotation
• Assist meat cutters and clerks with trimming, cutting, and preparing meat items
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and tools per food safety regulations
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate stock needs to the meat department manager
• Follow all food handling and safety guidelines, including temperature control and storage
• Operate and maintain wrapping equipment such as scales, vacuum sealers, and wrapping machines
• Support overall cleanliness and organization of the meat department

Qualifications & Skills

• Prior experience in a grocery meat department or food service environment preferred
• Knowledge of meat handling, wrapping techniques, and food safety regulations
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in labeling and packaging
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights
• Good dexterity and hand-eye coordination
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Must have open availability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
