Assistant Builder
Location: Redmond
Pay: $18
Role Overview:
The Assistant Builder plays a critical support role in trailer production by keeping the workspace organized
and preparing materials in advance. They also perform key maintenance tasks assisting in day to day workflow of
Builders by ensuring prep material is ready and the workplace is organized, clean, and tidy.
Facilitative Shop Duties:
General Shop:
- Organize tools, hardware, and supplies consistently without supervision
Adapt to the workflow of Builders by assisting with materials gathering as directed and anticipating upcoming needs to
support uninterrupted production
- Maintain a tidy, unobstructed workspace by sweeping and decluttering shop floors throughout the day
- Complete any needed task as directed by senior Builders
- Learn and know all tool names and their designated spots
- Empty dust collection bags and drums when 3/4 full
- Empty trash + recycling as needed
Rental Return check-in and cleaning:
- Vacuum cabin + galley of debris
- Sanitize and wipe down gallery
- Wash trailer with water exterior if dusty/dirty
- Polish trailer with aluminum polish compound
Property and Yard Maintenance:
- Maintain clean and debris free lot
- Snow removal in winter + leaf removal in Fall
-Tidy and keep organized all pallets, stickers, trailer bases, and yard materials
- De-weed property as needed
Break Room Maintenance:
- Clean sinks and surfaces; sanitize tables and counters
Empty trash and replace liners
- Replenish dish soap, hand soap, and other consumables
- Clean water cooler and replace jugs as needed
Bathroom Maintenance (once per week; every Friday):
Clean toilets and all surfaces
- Clean sink and all surfaces
- Restock paper goods and hand soap
- Empty trash and sweep/mop floors
Construction:
Trailer Preparation:
- Batch and construct large quantities of floor and wall trim to specification, ensuring consistent quality and finish
- Maintain organization of part storage for efficient access by Builders
- Sand, prep, and stain common boards, galley boards, and CNC-cut parts, ensuring materials are ready in advance of build
- Cut panels to size for future builds; stain, dry, and organize in the correct build order on storage racks
Floor Construction:
- Assemble floors from start to finish, adhering to specified dimensions and order of operations
- Ensure each floor is square, accurate, and ready for wall installation according to the corresponding trailer model
