What You Get to Do!
As an Outside Sales Representative, you’ll own the full sales cycle—from generating opportunities to closing deals and ensuring accurate invoicing. You’ll manage a set of house accounts while actively expanding your customer base and driving profitable growth. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role ideal for someone who knows how to build trust, communicate clearly, and deliver solutions that make life easier for contractors, builders, and businesses.
• Maintain and grow existing accounts through strong product knowledge, relationship building, and consistent follow-up
• Provide accurate quotes within company guidelines and ensure pricing aligns with established margins
• Communicate delivery schedules and materials expectations clearly and honestly
• Build and maintain productive vendor relationships to protect pricing integrity and profitability
• Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and introducing new products
• Contribute to a cohesive sales team by collaborating, supporting teammates, and taking responsibility for outcomes
• Track customer projects, perform job-cost comparisons, and maintain accurate costing spreadsheets
• Help meet and exceed sales margin goals through smart selling and strategic decision-making
What You Will Bring…
• 2+ years of prior sales experience, preferably in lumber or building material sales
• Previous estimating and purchasing experience
• Strong organization, reporting, and Microsoft Office skills
• A knack for problem-solving and analyzing customer needs
• Professionalism in communication, follow-through, and teamwork
• Passion for the work you do and the people you do it with!
