Who We Are!
RootedHomes is a not-for-profit organization that creates sustainable, affordable homeownership communities for Central Oregon’s workforce. RootedHomes uses the Community Land Trust model to help homeowners own their home outright by leveraging a traditional mortgage, while RootedHomes owns the land under the homes and leases it to the homeowners through a 99-year renewable land lease. RootedHomes has completed five communities with 40 owner-occupied homes. The current pipeline of projects under construction includes 4 additional communities with a total of 102 net zero energy homes from 2026 - 2027. RootedHomes has other projects in pre-development and aims to have completed communities in Deschutes, Crook and Jefferson County by 2028.
What You Get to Do!
The Bilingual Outreach Coordinator will be part of the RootedHomes Homeownership Department. They will coordinate all outreach efforts directed at educating prospective homebuyers about RootedHomes’ homeownership program and upcoming housing opportunities. Primary responsibilities include attending outreach events such as resource fairs, community events, culturally specific events, community meetings and any opportunities to connect with buyers in Deschutes, Jefferson and Crook counties. Outreach coordinator will also be responsible for engaging with prospective homebuyers, coordinating and teaching information sessions and being the first point of contact for people interested in the program. This role is a relationship-based role that requires genuine, strong communication with prospective homebuyers. This role requires training in equity and housing justice in alignment with RootedHomes values and mission. This is a role where weekend and evening work will be required.
Outreach and Program Support (75%)
● Operate as the first point of contact for all prospective homebuyers to answer questions and provide information in a client-centered manner.
● Plan, organize and teach information sessions and outreach events for RootedHomes.
● Represent the organization at community events as needed.
● Work with the Homeownership team to implement community outreach plans.
● Work with the Homeownership team to implement a Spanish language access plan that is adapted year after year.
● Create and distribute prospective homebuyer communications to advertise RootedHomes properties.
● Assist prospective homebuyers with beginning steps of the application process like accessing application materials, coordinating with lenders and providing resources to help clients become mortgage ready.
● Coordinate data management in salesforce in relationship to clients.
● Assist with website updates in relationship to the homeownership program in English and Spanish.
● Other duties as assigned by management.
Post-purchase Stewardship (25%)
● Operate as the first point of contact for stewardship needs for RootedHomes homeowners.
● Work with the homeownership team to plan and organize post-purchase events and education opportunities for RootedHomes homeowners such as: Summer mingle, estate planning workshops, culturally specific community building events, ongoing financial education.
● Oversee annual compliance checks as it relates to property taxes, homeowner land lease fees, HOA fees and residency certifications.
● Act as RootedHomes HOA liaison when needed to attend meetings between homeowners and the Homeowners Association.
● Coordinate homeowner processes such as improvement requests, annual recertifications and annual tax exemptions.
What You Will Bring…
● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
● Bilingual in English and Spanish
● At least two years of experience in a client-centered environment for a community engagement organization.
● Ability to use independent judgment. Flexible and adept at managing multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
● Strong written, analytical, and organizational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
● Demonstrated team player with interpersonal and relationship building skills.
● Evenings and weekend work required depending on the needs of the organization.
● Reliable automobile transportation with valid driver’s license and insurance.

● Experience in real estate transactions and affordable housing.
● Experience with culturally and economically diverse communities.
● Public speaking or meeting facilitation experience.
● Working knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM, as well as Excel.
● Experience working in rural communities and knowledge of communities in Crook and Jefferson County.
