Job Full Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Contract Controller to lead a short-term accounting cleanup and process improvement project for a growing organization. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys untangling complex books, improving financial accuracy, and creating structure within QuickBooks.
The ideal candidate has deep QuickBooks expertise, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while partnering closely with leadership to bring clarity and organization to the company’s financials.
What You Get to Do!
• Review and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and credit card activity
• Clean up and organize QuickBooks data, including chart of accounts, classes, vendors, and customer records
• Identify and correct accounting discrepancies, duplicate entries, and historical errors
• Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and audit-ready
• Assist with month-end close processes and financial reporting
• Review AR/AP processes and improve accounting workflows where needed
• Support payroll, sales tax, and other compliance-related reconciliations as applicable
• Create documentation and recommendations for ongoing accounting best practices
• Improve inventory processes and reporting
What You Will Bring…
• Proven experience as a Controller, Senior Accountant, or Accounting Consultant
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Experience with accounting cleanups, reconciliations, and process improvements
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
• Construction, manufacturing, or multi-entity experience is a plus
