🛠 Position Overview

Redmond Municipal Airport is seeking a dedicated Airport Land Systems & Facilities Maintenance Worker to perform a variety of landscaping, groundskeeping, facility maintenance, and repair duties throughout airport property. This position is responsible for maintaining airport grounds, buildings, parking areas, roadways, and support facilities while ensuring a safe, clean, and professional environment for airport operations.

✅ Essential Duties & Responsibilities

🌳 Grounds & Landscaping Maintenance

• Perform outdoor cleanup tasks throughout airport property, including:
  • Vehicle parking areas
  • Airport road rights-of-way
  • Terminal grounds
  • Snow Removal Equipment (SRE) building grounds
• Maintain established lawns through:
  • Mulching
  • Aerating
  • Weeding
  • Thatch removal
  • Edging and trimming around flower beds, walkways, and walls
• Remove litter and debris around terminal buildings and airport roadways
• Trim and prune trees and shrubs
• Perform flower bed maintenance and seasonal landscaping duties

💧 Irrigation Systems

• Operate and maintain automatic and manual irrigation systems
• Install and repair irrigation piping and related components
• Monitor irrigation performance and troubleshoot issues
• Apply fertilizers and non-restricted herbicides/pesticides in accordance with safety guidelines

🏢 Facilities Maintenance

• Perform unskilled, semi-skilled, and skilled maintenance tasks within:
  • Redmond Municipal Airport facilities
  • SRE Building
  • ARFF Station
  • Parking lots and airport grounds
• Conduct general facilities maintenance including:
  • Carpentry
  • Plumbing
  • Painting
  • Drywall repairs
• Maintain both interior and exterior airport structures

🔧 Equipment & Mechanical Support

• Perform light mechanical work and equipment repairs
• Operate tools, vehicles, and maintenance equipment safely
• Assist with preventative maintenance activities

⭐ Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

✔ High School Diploma or GED equivalent

✔ Minimum of twelve (12) months verifiable work experience in:

• Landscaping
• Groundskeeping
• Irrigation systems
• Lawn maintenance
• Tree and shrub trimming

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

✔ Experience maintaining commercial grounds and landscapes

✔ Ability to perform general building maintenance and repairs

✔ Working knowledge of:

• Irrigation systems
• Landscaping equipment
• Facilities maintenance procedures

✔ Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and tools

✔ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
