Assistant To Sawyer

Location: Bend, Oregon

 Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Pay: $20–$23 DOE

Position Summary

The Assistant Sawyer supports the Lead Sawyer in preparing and packaging finished lumber materials. This is a fast‑paced, physically demanding role responsible for assisting with all aspects of banding, wrapping, stacking, and preparing orders for shipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Band and wrap finished lumber materials for shipping

• Stack and organize finished materials according to size, type, and grade

• Transport lumber from saws to staging and storage areas

• Sweep and maintain cleanliness of the entire sawmill work area

• Lift and carry boards up to 50 lbs

• Follow all safety policies and procedures, including wearing required composite‑toe shoes

Qualifications

• Ability to regularly lift and carry heavy lumber (up to 50 lbs)

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions

• Ability to stand and walk for entire 8–10 hour shifts

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
