Spray Room Operator
Reports to: Production Supervisor Job ID: 30110
Entity: Keystone Koating LLC Job Classification: Labors and Helpers
Summary and Objective:This position is responsible to ensure high quality standards in the spray booth area. This position is responsible for maintaining a culture of continuous improvement. This position is also responsible for booth maintenance and cleanliness.
Essential Functions:
Have a complete understanding of powder application:
Spraying techniques and effective methods
Gun operations
Overall quality
Appearance of millage of powder
Substrate
Understanding of powder properties and characteristics
Color Change:
Develop an efficient and effective color change procedure in conjunction with team leader and execute the plan.
Continue to monitor length of time it takes, and look for time saving methods
Powder Inventory:
Ensure that the powder inventory is accurate
Communicate regularly with Spray Team Leader and supervisor about following:
Discuss any quality issues & give solutions to problems that may arise
Discuss line density with regards to spraying
Adjusting line speed
Clean up:
Expected to keep the booth and surrounding areas neat clean and consistent
Expected to do all jobs assigned and unassigned in a professional, quick, and effective manner
Characteristics and Competencies:
Always aggressively pursue and implement better and more profitable methods of production
Consult with appropriately experienced individuals on new ideas
Become knowledgeable in the complete powder coating process, to where you can fill any vacated position as necessary
Required Education and Experience:
At least 18 years of age
Preferred Education and Experience:
Related industry experience
Work Environment:This job operates in a manufacturing environment. This role routinely hand tools, hoists, and forklifts.
