General Construction Worker
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking General Construction Worker to assist in the construction of high-quality residential-style structures. This position requires individuals who are motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of performing a variety of construction and material handling tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in one or more areas including framing, drywall, interior finishing, material handling, and general construction.
Primary Responsibilities
Material Handling
Receive, unload, inspect, and organize construction materials.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-moving equipment as authorized.
Deliver materials to workstations and construction areas as needed.
Maintain inventory accuracy and ensure materials are properly stored.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Assist with loading finished products for transportation and delivery.
General Construction
Assist with all phases of construction projects from start to finish.
Read and follow blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders.
Use hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and efficiently.
Support framing, roofing, siding, flooring, and exterior finish installations.
Measure, cut, and assemble building materials according to specifications.
Maintain compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
Interior Construction
Install doors, windows, trim, molding, cabinetry, and interior finishes.
Perform finish carpentry work with attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Assist with flooring installation, wall finishes, and fixture installation.
Work alongside electrical, plumbing, and HVAC teams during interior build-outs.
Ensure completed interiors meet quality and appearance standards.
Drywall Installation & Finishing
Measure, cut, and install drywall panels.
Tape, mud, sand, and finish drywall surfaces.
Repair drywall imperfections and prepare surfaces for painting.
Operate drywall lifts and finishing tools safely.
Inspect completed work to ensure smooth, professional finishes.
Maintain quality standards while meeting production schedules.
Qualifications
Required
Previous experience in construction, carpentry, drywall, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
Ability to safely operate common hand and power tools.
Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Ability to lift 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
Preferred
Construction, carpentry, drywall, framing, or finish carpentry experience.
Forklift certification or experience operating material-handling equipment.
Experience reading blueprints and construction drawings.
Knowledge of residential construction practices.
Physical Requirements
Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull construction materials.
Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the workday.
Work in indoor and outdoor environments as required.
Safely perform physically demanding tasks while maintaining quality workmanship.
