Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Melt Operator to join our production team on second shift. In this role, you will be responsible for operating melt furnaces and processing raw materials used to manufacture high-performance rare earth magnets. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, and monitor melt furnaces used in alloy production. Accurately weigh and load raw materials according to production requirements. Prepare alloys for downstream ball milling and jet milling operations. Monitor furnace operations to ensure quality, consistency, and production targets are met. Perform in-process inspections and verify product quality throughout production. Follow work instructions, process control standards, and safety procedures. Record production and quality data in ERP systems, logs, and manufacturing documentation. Clean and maintain equipment, furnaces, and work areas. Perform basic preventative maintenance and identify equipment issues. Ensure proper handling of materials and gases, including hydrogen, nitrogen, and argon. Communicate production concerns and escalate issues as needed. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions. Basic computer and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Previous manufacturing, production, furnace operation, or industrial experience. Experience operating production equipment and machinery. Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Experience with quality inspections and process documentation. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds regularly. Comfortable working around industrial equipment, high temperatures, and manufacturing processes. Ability to wear required PPE and follow all safety protocols. Why Join EEC?
