Metal Polisher / Grinder
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Metal Polisher / Grinder to join our production team. This role is responsible for removing excess metal, smoothing surface defects, deburring, grinding, and polishing aluminum and stainless-steel parts to meet quality and production standards.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience operating industrial grinding and polishing equipment and be comfortable working in a manufacturing or foundry environment.
Key Responsibilities
Polish and buff aluminum and stainless-steel parts to required specifications.
Remove surface defects and excess material using abrasive belts and polishing equipment.
Read and interpret operation sheets and technical specifications.
Select appropriate abrasive belts based on finish requirements and material type.
Set up and operate polishing and grinding machinery.
Monitor equipment during operation and make minor adjustments as needed.
Inspect first-piece and finished parts to ensure quality standards are met.
Deburr edges, corners, and surfaces using air-powered tools such as dynafiles.
Perform visual inspections of completed parts.
Conduct minor maintenance on equipment and tooling.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Work collaboratively with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
Follow all company safety policies and quality standards.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
Previous light industrial or manufacturing experience.
Experience grinding and/or polishing metal.
Experience operating equipment similar to:
Bader grinding machines
Hammond polishing lathes
Other large abrasive belt grinding and polishing equipment
Ability to read and follow work instructions and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and quality.
Physical Requirements
Standing for extended periods.
Frequent bending and reaching.
Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
Ability to work in a foundry/manufacturing environment.

Consistently produce parts that meet customer specifications.
