Packaging Machine OperatorSchedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PMPay: $19.00 – $22.00 per hour DOEEmployment Type: Full-TimePosition SummaryWe are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Packaging Machine Operator to join our production team on second shift. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting packaging equipment to ensure products are packaged accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with quality and food safety standards.The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing or food production environment, possess strong mechanical aptitude, and be committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and productive workplace.Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Setup & OperationPrepare, set up, and operate packaging machinery and equipment, including:Barrel fillersPrintersLabelersBanding equipmentSealing equipmentConveyorsAutomatic case packing systemsPerform daily operator inspections and startup checks at shift changes.Verify proper machine operation and scale functionality prior to production runs.Select and load the correct programs for Ishida scales and Atlas bag markers based on scheduled products.Operate shaker systems to ensure proper product flow to packaging machines.Perform equipment changeovers efficiently and accurately.Production & Quality ControlMonitor packaging operations throughout the shift to ensure:Accurate product weightsProper package sealsBag integrityCorrect date codesCorrect pricing informationUse printers and coding equipment to ensure all packaging information is accurate and legible.Make adjustments to scales, bag markers, and packaging equipment as needed to maintain product quality and consistency.Record film usage data and calculate packaging waste percentages.Complete production reports and record end-of-shift production information.Identify, investigate, and correct scanning or production errors.Material HandlingLoad packaging film and materials required for production runs.Lift and install:Film rolls weighing up to 60 poundsFormers weighing up to 40 poundsRemove and properly store materials at the end of production runs.Safety & SanitationFollow all company safety procedures and food safety requirements.Utilize Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures when required.Immediately report conditions that could impact product quality, food safety, or employee safety.Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.Perform daily cleaning and end-of-week sanitation procedures as directed.
