Automation Technician
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour (DOE)Schedule: Full-TimeEmployment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated production equipment to ensure maximum efficiency, quality, and uptime.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience with PLC-controlled equipment, and a passion for continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and optimize automated production equipment.
Monitor equipment performance and proactively address issues to minimize downtime.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control system problems.
Perform routine inspections and replace worn or damaged components.
Support preventive maintenance programs and equipment reliability initiatives.
Work closely with Engineering, Production, and Maintenance teams to improve processes and productivity.
Assist with equipment upgrades, automation projects, and new technology implementations.
Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on scrap reduction, efficiency gains, and cost savings.
Develop and maintain work instructions, maintenance procedures, and safety documentation.
Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, quality standards, and operating procedures.
Qualifications
Required
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum 2 years of experience supporting automated or industrial manufacturing equipment.
Experience troubleshooting and working with:
PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
HMIs
Industrial control systems
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
Preferred
Associate's Degree in Automation, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
Robotics experience.
Knowledge of IPC-620 standards.
Experience in wire processing, cable assembly, automotive manufacturing, USCAR, or IATF environments.

Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the production facility.
Repetitive hand and tool usage.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and wear required PPE.
