Controller Nonprofit Organization Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and finance functions of a growing nonprofit organization. This leadership role is responsible for financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, compliance, cash flow management, and strategic financial planning. The Controller will partner with executive leadership to support organizational goals while ensuring financial accuracy and operational efficiency. Position Details • Pay: $55,000 - $75,000 annually. • Full-time leadership position. • Reports to executive leadership. • Responsible for accounting, compliance, reporting, budgeting, and financial strategy. Key Responsibilities • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. • Oversee the general ledger and month-end close process. • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash flow. • Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts. • Maintain strong internal controls and financial procedures. • Coordinate audits and tax filings. • Implement process improvements and financial system efficiencies. • Provide financial guidance to support organizational strategy and decision-making. Leadership Responsibilities • Provide strategic financial leadership and business insights. • Mentor and develop accounting staff. • Establish performance goals and accountability standards. • Collaborate with leadership and operational departments. • Lead process improvement initiatives and system upgrades. • Present financial information clearly to stakeholders. • Maintain the highest ethical and compliance standards. Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required. • CPA preferred. • Leadership and supervisory experience required. • Minimum 3 years of nonprofit accounting experience. • Minimum 2 years of nonprofit controller experience. • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
