About the Opportunity
Express Employment Professionals is recruiting a Controller for a nonprofit organization in the Pittsburgh area. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, internal controls, budgeting, and strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Oversee the general ledger and month-end close process
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash flow
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Coordinate audits and tax filings
- Implement process improvements and automation initiatives
- Partner with executive leadership on financial strategy
- Present financial information to leadership and stakeholders
- Mentor and develop accounting staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA preferred
- 7-10+ years of accounting and finance experience
- Prior leadership or management experience required
- Minimum 5 years of nonprofit accounting experience
- Minimum 3 years of nonprofit Controller experience
