Job Full Description

Our client in Spartanburg is seeking a Temporary  Permit/Administrative Specialist to support the Inspections Division. This role ensures accurate processing of permits, recordkeeping, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process permit requests, verify required documents, and ensure applicant qualifications.

  • Calculate permit fees and adjustments for contractors’ business licenses.

  • Issue city permits (building, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, occupancy, sprinklers, fences, signs, sewer stub-ins, etc.).

  • Maintain accurate files, including certificates, site plans, permits, construction prints, and occupancy reports.

  • Schedule inspectors to cover absences and coordinate field activities.

  • Create purchase orders and process invoices for supplies and services.

  • Answer phones and emails, addressing customer questions and concerns.

  • Maintain records for trade licenses, contractor approvals, sewer fees, and inspection activities.

  • Perform clerical duties such as typing, data entry, filing, mailing, and distributing reports.

  • Assist customers, citizens, and employees.

  • Retrieve documents, prepare reports, and perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Mon- Fri 8 - 5 pm. Pay is $18.
