Field Service Technician
Location: Spartanburg, SC
Pay: $30–$36/hour
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to support installation, start-up, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial equipment. This role requires a strong technical background and the ability to travel extensively while providing hands-on support and training to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct field service activities including start-ups, troubleshooting, repairs, and customer training (75%)
- Handle administrative tasks such as trip preparation, service reports, documentation, and expense reports (15%)
- Support facility maintenance and assist with production/manufacturing as needed
- Travel to customer sites to supervise and/or inspect equipment installations
- Perform equipment start-ups and make mechanical and electrical adjustments
- Train operators through classroom instruction and hands-on demonstrations
- Troubleshoot PLC systems and electrical control panels
- Perform mechanical and electrical repairs as necessary
- Provide customer support via phone when needed
- Prepare and maintain reports using Microsoft Excel, Word, and other software
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in wastewater, textile, or industrial machinery service
- High school diploma or associate’s degree required
- Prior experience in a customer-facing technical service role
- Strong knowledge of PLC troubleshooting (Allen Bradley, Siemens, GE)
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), AutoCAD, and SolidWorks
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Travel Requirements:
- Travel required (domestic and international)
- Ability to travel on short notice
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work in varying conditions (heat, cold, industrial environments)
- Physically capable of performing job duties in the field
- Experience with municipal/industrial wastewater or textile equipment is a plus
