Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Express Employment
Location: Nashville, TN (Elm Hill Pike + support for Centennial & Jennie Brown)
Schedule: Full-time, 50+ hrs/week

Position Overview
Express Employment is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain mobile and production equipment used across multiple outdoor work sites. This role includes both shop work and field repairs, with daily travel between locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on loaders, excavators, grinders, screeners, conveyors, trucks, and trailers.
- Troubleshoot electrical, ECM/ECU, DEF, and hydraulic systems.
- Complete welding, fabrication, and conveyor belt adjustments.
- Manage PM schedules, track labor/parts, and maintain basic truck inventory.
- Train operators on inspections and basic maintenance.
- Work outdoors in all weather and support occasional emergency or extended-hour repairs.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of heavy equipment or diesel mechanic experience.
- Strong electrical/ECM/DEF and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to weld and read wiring diagrams/schematics.
- CDL-A required (service truck operation).
- Must provide own tools.
- Able to lift 50–75 lbs and climb on/off large equipment.
Work Environment
Outdoor yard and shop settings with exposure to dust, noise, and heavy equipment. PPE required.
