The Safety Coordinator works closely with local facility leadership and team members to support training, investigations, and management of site safety programs and standard operating procedures. This role promotes lean manufacturing principles with a focus on zero injuries and zero waste.
You will assist with onboarding and training new team members, investigate accidents and injuries to determine root causes, implement preventative measures, and support modified duty and return-to-work programs. You may also lead projects supporting both Lean and Safety initiatives and assist with ISO certifications.

Assess, recommend, develop, and maintain safety programs and protocols.

Recommend measures to protect workers from hazardous processes, materials, or methods through training, communication, monitoring, and regulatory compliance (federal and state OSHA).

Maintain safety and lean programs, including emergency action plans, IIPP, drug/alcohol testing programs, heat illness prevention, SDS, and other required protocols.

Act as a mentor for new employees, including onboarding, training schedules, certifications, PPE distribution, and ongoing education.

Coordinate hands-on training with supervisors and leads.

Ensure supervisors and managers remain compliant with safety observations, toolbox talks, and leadership audits.

Evaluate facility conditions such as housekeeping, lighting, equipment, guards, and protective devices.

Serve as the primary site contact for all safety-related matters, including vendor coordination, safety kits, testing, SDS sheets, SOPs, and employee training.

Lead local site safety and lean committees.

Recognize safe behaviors and best practices among team members.

May assist management with training content or metric analysis using internal reporting systems.
