Job Title: Unarmed Security Guard
Location: McAllen, TX
Pay Rate: $12.00 per hour
Schedule: Rotating schedule, 2 days off per week; open availability required (Monday-Sunday).
Example shifts:

7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

11:00 AM – 8:00 PM

3:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Position Overview:
As an Unarmed Security Guard at the immigration center, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the premises. Your primary duties include monitoring the facility, controlling access, conducting security screenings, and responding effectively to emergencies. This is a critical role in maintaining a safe environment for staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:

Surveillance: Monitor the facility regularly to detect and prevent suspicious activity.

Access Control: Screen visitors, verify identification, and ensure that only authorized personnel enter restricted areas.

Security Screening: Perform screenings of individuals and their belongings to prevent prohibited items from entering the facility.

Emergency Response: Respond quickly to incidents, de-escalate situations, and maintain order.

Report Writing: Document security-related incidents, patrols, and any issues observed.

Communication: Maintain clear communication with fellow guards and staff, reporting any security concerns.

Customer Service: Provide courteous assistance to visitors and staff, offering directions or support while adhering to facility policies.
Qualifications & Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Previous experience in security or a related field is preferred.

Excellent observational and attention-to-detail skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to remain calm under pressure.

Basic computer skills for report writing.

Physical fitness and ability to stand or walk for extended periods.

Bilingual (English & Spanish) required.

Must pass background check and drug screening.
Additional Requirements:

Valid state security guard license or certification is a plus.

Completion of first aid, CPR, and de-escalation training is beneficial.

Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
