Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to join our Quality Assurance team at the McAllen Texas Distribution Center (TDC). This role is critical in strengthening supplier performance, supporting new program launches, and maintaining high standards across our supply chain—especially for molding and electronic components sourced from Mexican plants and external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage supplier part quality for the Texas DC and Reynosa, Mexico plant, ensuring compliance and rapid response to part-related claims.
- Support supplier selection and development processes, especially for electronic and molding components.
- Lead APQP, PPAP, and supplier audits, ensuring quality standards are met from early development through production.
- Collaborate closely with internal QA teams, engineering, procurement, and supplier partners.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics and drive continuous improvement (Kaizen) activities.
- Provide on-site supplier support in Reynosa (minimum 3 visits per week, secure transportation provided).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; focus on Mechanical or Electronics preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in automotive supplier quality engineering.
- Strong knowledge of PPAP, APQP, supplier audits, and quality systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience with OEM processes is highly desirable.
- Language skills: Spanish or Japanese is a plus.
- Must be comfortable traveling regularly to Reynosa, Mexico minimum (3) days per week. (secured company transport provided)
