Job Full Description

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Quality Inspector to join a local company in Tyler, TX! We are a full-service Staffing Firm where we work with companies in East Texas who have openings they are looking to fill with great talent we find for them!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Green Coffee Inspection:

    • Inspect green coffee for cleanliness, mold, pest infestation, bean size, moisture levels, and defects.

    • Perform sample roasts and cupping as necessary.

  • Roasted Coffee Inspection:

    • Evaluate roast profiles, Agtron scores, grind profiles, and screen size.

  • Finished Product Inspection:

    • Ensure finished goods comply with DLC and customer specifications.

    • Measure residual oxygen content and perform sensory tasting of finished products.

  • Monitoring & Quality Control:

    • Monitor production practices to ensure food quality standards are maintained.

    • Place nonconforming products on QA Hold when necessary.

    • Collect and analyze quality data, completing appropriate forms and communicating with operations teams regarding quality concerns.

  • Documentation & Data Management:

    • Maintain production specs, logs, complaints, COAs, and other critical documentation.

    • Perform data entry for quality metrics and other relevant reports.

  • QACCP Program Oversight:

    • Assist with monitoring activities of the QACCP (Quality Assurance Critical Control Points) program.

    • Work with operational teams to verify and validate quality control measures.

  • Collaboration & Support:

    • Collaborate with operational personnel to ensure consistent product quality.

    • Provide oversight and support for finished product checks and quality control measures.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Skills:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent (required).

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to read, write, and perform basic math tasks.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with strong data entry skills (alpha-numeric).

    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Communication Skills:

    • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential for reporting findings and interacting with team members.

    • Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.

  • Interpersonal Skills:

    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

    • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

    • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving quality issues.
